Statement of Intent

At Barlborough, we want children to develop a life-long love of music and inspire creativity, self-expression and the ability to connect with others. We believe that every child is a musician and want them to see themselves as singers, performers and composers. By exposing the children to a wide variety of musical experiences and styles, we hope they will appreciate and understand music from different times, traditions and cultures. We want them to form their own ideas about music and be able to express their preferences alongside an understanding of musical elements and structure.

PROGRESSION GRID

During their time at Barlborough Primary School all pupils need to develop a broad range of knowledge and skills across all curriculum areas.  To ensure that learning is targeted at the appropriate challenge level, progression grids are used.
